The agent helping me sell my home wants me to sign a listing agreement. Is it okay for me to sign this?
There is no problem with you signing the listing agreement. In fact, you need to sign the listing agreement to allow the agent to list your home. Once you sign that agreement, it defines the expectations that you are setting for the listing agent and what you are agreeing to give the agent in exchange for his or her services.

I have an agent in mind - will SIRVA Relocation allow us to list and sell our home through his/her agency?
Yes, if you notify SIRVA Relocation Resources prior to listing your property and that agency agrees to SIRVA Relocation's referral program. SIRVA Relocation is committed to working with real estate companies who are dedicated to customer service. If you feel that they will serve your needs, we are more than happy to invite them to join our broker network.

Do I have a choice of real estate agents when listing my property through the SIRVA Relocation Broker Network?

What if I am already working with an agent that is not part of SIRVA Relocation's network?
Please call us to see if we can help you. There are several different services that SIRVA Relocation may be able to assist with.

How does a real estate agent determine the recommended list price for my property?
The agent will present you with a Broker's Market Analysis (BMA). The analysis presents you with a number of factors including (but not limited to) location, condition and age of the property. In addition, a review of current homes on the market coupled with past sales will help determine the most effective list price, and estimated sale price.

If the real estate agent identifies or suggests repairs to be made to my property am I responsible for making those repairs?
If the real estate agent identifies or suggests improvements or repairs to the property and you make the decision to make that repair or improvement the costs are your responsibility. Keep in mind that the agent is making suggestions that will make your home more marketable - sometimes spending a few dollars on things like paint can reap significant rewards on the final sales price. The decision and cost are yours, but SIRVA Relocation Consultants are more than happy to assist in discussing those decisions.

What if I don't like the way my agent is handling my transaction?

Our consultants are there to make sure your real estate agent gets the job done and that you are satisfied with the results. If necessary, we can use a different agent from the same company or look at other companies.
